don't ask me how i got to be so lucky when it comes to op-shopping but somehow i am now the owner of a Jane Austen Heroine dress! like this except all the more tangible and actual (and the sleeves aren't puffy). it has a deep blue velvet "bodice" which ends under the bust and drops down in white muslin stuff. Its a reproduction from the fifties and I feel guilty for spending the money but the fact that it fit me like a glove seemed to be an omen. It's great for demure curtseying. Sas as soon as I saw it i thought of you. You'll have to borrow it soon!

don't you love it when you feel like an absolute genius to have found something that makes you so happy, when really it is the person that made the beautiful thing, that is well and truly, oh so divinely, the genius? Well, op-shopping success is really both intertwined.
